Noosa Tri
The weekend past was not to be overshadowed by the spectacle that is the Noosa Triathlon Festival. MEC had 3 athletes make the journey north to compete in the Olympic Distance event.
For Patrick Nalty this was his goal race for the year. A fantastic block of training in the months leading allowed him to steer things home safely despite some cramping in the mid stages of the run. A great performance Patrick.
Fi Neuwirth used the day to gain more triathlon experience as a stepping stone towards her other goals later in the year and reports were that she had a great time on course. Fi is showing great progress having only joined MEC recently.
Matt Carman made his return to racing on the weekend and put together a solid day. Already into the swing of preparing for some early 2017 races Noosa was a good test of where he is at before some more specific and concentrated work ahead.
Andy White showed a great performance and that he is moving well ahead of his goal race later this year taking 2nd in the 25-29yrs and 31st overall. Andy now keeps his head down for the finishing touches on his preparation.
LiveWrong Ride
It was another windy day in Victoria on Sunday which could only mean that Jeff Beavis was in a bike race. Jeff rode the 'LiveWrong' ride from Williamstown to Indented Head and reported having a solid day from start to finish. Well done Jeff on a solid October of bike racing!
We now move into full swing over the coming weeks with the ActiveTri series and Rottnest Tri starting next week followed by Challenge Shepparton and the Mt Martha 'Sufferfest'.
