Last weekend saw a mixture of racing from the MEC athletes.

Chantelle Reiter and Travis Hill got out for an 8k local fun run Saturday afternoon. Chantelle has been working diligently on getting her running going and keeping injury free. Saturday was another positive step for her in her progress. Travis showed that after several weeks back training he is starting to dust the cobwebs off for the year ahead running a 5k pb during the event. A great sign so early in the season.

Down at Portarlington for race 4 of the Gatorade Christine Seymour posted another good race in her lead in to Challenge Melbourne next month. Christine managed a personal best over the Portarlington course and is going from strength to strength.

Talia Goddard opened her triathlon race account for the year with a 6th place in her age group. Talia has begun her build from swimmer to triathlete leading out of the water and with a training focus of bike/run for the time being will be a contender in the not too distant future.

Up in Bendigo the boys got around on the inaugural Half Iron distance event. Angelo Bonacci lead his age group from start to finish taking the win while Adrian Polidano finished 5th in his age group coming home with the 4th fastest run of the day. Great work by the boys as they start the work for their goal races mid-year.
