With a 'break' in the racing proceedings for many ahead of Western Sydney, the Victorian Short Course Series and Ironman WA we still had two of the MEC crew venture out to toe their respective start lines last weekend.

The Ironmum did what she does best and made short work of the Western Suburbs Tri Club sprint event. A true ambassador for what parents with young families and jobs go through Woody managed to sneak out of the house, get the race done and return home before hubby and the kids could notice. A swim that better reflected the work put in over the winter put her onto the bike where she pushed to the fastest female bike split of the day. Another good run had her home with 1st in her age group and 2nd female overall.

Up to Queensland and the comeback Kiddo continued her return to racing with her second race in as many months. Coming back from knee injury has been a slow process on land however credit goes to Mon for putting in the work swimming with dividends beginning to pay off. Event organisers shortened the planned 5k swim to 1.2k due to conditions. Mon still managed to take the top step in her category over the shorter distance. A special mention to Cath Liston who was up visiting her older sister in QLD also raced and finished first in her category.

We look forward to seeing Mon spending more time riding and running as she continues her diligent rehab and return to swim/bike/run racing.

Well done ladies.

Not just a triathlete coach, but also a life coach

Not only has my coach helped me to achieve what I have set out to achieve, he has taught me so much more, I actually call him my triathlete coach and life coach. He believes in me before I have believed in myself, without him I would not have achieved my 70.3 World qualifier and Ironman pb's.
