As it tends to do, the Melbourne weather turned on a challenging day for the 'Around the Bay' riders last weekend.

Kathy Delos Santos has showed how much she has grown not only in fitness but in confidence taking on one of her longest rides ever in the brutal winds. While Kathy is slight in build she has shown that tough days are for tough people. Well done Kathy.

Matt Carmen rolled the legs over and opened his seasons account over in a local half marathon in South Australia. Matt is an experienced long course athlete now and has his eyes firmly set on hitting his goals this season.

This weekend MEC has athletes racing in China for the inaugural 70.3 event in Hefei along with  a local event in the Melbourne Marathon. We wish the best to those competing. Remember that smart is fast.

MEC is also opening up its group sessions for non coached athletes to attend if and where it suits other athletes join. With pool, open water sessions along with run and ride sessions available we are opening the door for anyone to join and learn how we do things and gain new skills and methods to improve their triathlon. We will have more information about this early next week.

I am continually improving

"The training and coaching relationship is continually challenging, interesting, and individualised. It has not been boring or stagnant. I am continually improving which keeps me continually motivated."
